We were getting rid of the walls in the kitchen today, which meant we had a lot of drywall on our hands. Got Junk? came to pick it up for us, but unfortunately they made a big mess in the hallways of the co-op we now live in.
This is where Joe the building maintenance man comes in.
First of all, he gets rid of the padding in the elevators at 3, then he refuses to put it back up (which means the Got Junk? people couldn't bring any of the junk down to their truck) even though we had the elevators booked until 4. And then he complains about the mess for 5 minutes.
I tried phoning the building's manager, but of course, his phone is off, while in the meantime, the cleaner was yelling at the Got Junk? people. I couldn't tell who was more frustrated.
Thankfully, 10 minutes later, Mr. Building Manager phones me back and says that I was right (of course) and we had the elevators until 4 and that he had gotten Joe to start the elevator again. He also said though that we had to clean the mess in the hallway or we would be fined. Touché.
We did clean up the hallways, the Got Junk? people left, and Joe seemed content enough.
However, in all this ruckus, I seemed to have misplaced my keys...

So far...
So, when I said this place was ugly, I really meant ugly. Just check out the sink:
And the carpet:
Thank goodness we've already started the renovation.
The handles look moldy :(
|
And the carpet:
Why did they put a pink square in it? Completely unnecessary. |
Thank goodness we've already started the renovation.
So far, we have:
- Painted the main bedroom (my mom's)
- Painted the closets
Seriously, they needed it. |
- Removed the walls in the kitchen to create an open concept
- Added a wall to what was an office and now a bedroom (mine)
Before |
After a bit... |
After! Except it's not completely done yet. |
As for what we're doing next, I'm not sure, but I hope it involves the destruction of the tiles in the bathroom...
Hello!
Hey, I'm Keara.
This place is completely ugly, which means my mom and I are going to have to redo this place from top to bottom.
Follow me as I survive through painting, new walls, putting in new floors and everything else that comes with a complete renovation.
